Asthma & Allergies

In my previous article we discussed the various benefits of Chiropractic for infants and children. This article is specific to asthma and allergies.

Chiropractic adjustments sensitize the nervous system at multiple levels and improve the interpretation and implementation of responses, a better mediated immune response.
Muscular control of the airways improves after adjustments, improved dilation can lessen the severity of an asthma attack.

I have anecdotal evidence of persons of all ages having improved immune responses; reduced hypersensitivity and frequency of asthma attacks, eczema and food allergies, as well as improvements in fighting infections.
There’s a physical, chemical and neurological link in all conditions.  If there’s an underlying chemical reason why someone has an allergy that should always be addressed first,  the physical and neurological can be improved with Chiropractic and that’s why we’ve seen changes.

During an immune response the body activates Mast Cells that recognize harmful substances and release Histamines.
The amount of and the sensitivity to Histamines causes the Allergic reaction.
Histamines activate the nervous system that releases hormones  via the Hypothalamus to mediate the immune response.
If the nervous system doesn't receive the correct information, mediation does not take place it escalates beyond an immune response to an allergic one.

Chiropractic improves neurological function, perception and reception and response. Chiropractic treatment should therefore be considered for all persons suffering from allergies and asthma.
